Why is it so hard to find?

I was happy with Crimson Editor for a long while but it's death as a development project sent me off looking for a replacement.

What I want is the FTP client of PSPad without the flaky connection hangs. I want the code folding, speed, stability and overall style of Notepad++ without the weird default syntax colourings which I can't be bothered to change. I want all preferences to be easily portable between my work PC and home PC.

I can live without code folding and, possibly, FTP. Notepad++ is so very nearly there but the weirdo default syntax colourings just make me hanker after the FTP I gave up.

Do I really have to buy UltraEdit to get all this?
